COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course aims to enhance students’ language proficiency in reading, writing, listening, and speaking, enabling them to confidently engage with longer, more complex materials and tasks. The curriculum follows the Common Language Framework, providing a structured approach to language learning.
ASSESSMENT & GRADING SYSTEM
Throughout the course, there will be regular formative assessments that align with the language and skills covered. These assessments will provide ongoing feedback to students, helping them track their progress and identify areas for improvement. At the end of the course, there will be a summative test that covers all aspects of the curriculum.
The assessments will cover the following areas:
- Listening: ability to understand straightforward questions and core information, ability to follow conversations when the speaker speaks slowly and clearly, and readiness to ask for repetition when needed.
- Reading: ability to comprehend the content of accessible texts, such as labels, posters, catalogues, ads, menus, job offers, and schedules, as well as ability to infer the meaning of unfamiliar words from context.
- Speaking: ability to answer questions about oneself, and to discuss topics such as family, place of residence, and food using simple sentences.
- Writing: ability to write a short message.
Grades will be determined based on student performance in these areas, with a focus on assessing the application of language skills in practical contexts.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
The program consists of two days of language classes per week and one biweekly cultural program. To receive a certificate, students must meet the attendance criteria. Students who have missed more than four classes or more than two cultural programs will not be eligible for the certificate.

CERTIFICATION
A certificate is issued upon completion of the course requirements, which include attending at least 90% of the contact hours and passing the final exam. The certificate indicates the course title, volume or number of academic hours, and the time of the course.

I’m a second-year pharmacy student at Acibadem University in Istanbul. I’m Ivorian, and when I have free time, I like to dance, knit, and listen to music. I was born in France and speak French fluently. I also know English, a little Spanish, and a little Turkish. I know how important it is to learn a foreign language because I am an international student in this city. So, I want to encourage people who want to learn a foreign language. I think that learning a new language gives me access to a whole new world, which makes my world a lot bigger. I’ll do my best to help each student learn French well, and I’ll do it with pleasure and enthusiasm.

I am Soumale Andrea Marlene Adja. I’m from Ivory Coast, and I live in Istanbul. I am in my second year at Acibadem University, where I study Molecular Biology and Genetics. My native language is French, and I want to teach French as an intern and learn more from the students. I think that teaching is the best way to learn about and connect with many new things and worlds.

I am Farouck Oumar SANOGO from Côte d’Ivoire. I am in my second year of a master’s program in business administration at Gedik University. I live in Turkey. I can speak French well. I can speak a little bit of English and Turkish. I can also talk in Arabic. I also teach people how to improve their personalities.
